Firstly, let me apologize for the lack of newsletter in June, as mentioned previously I have a new baby girl and she is, as is her right, keeping us on our toes. But having returned from holiday I realised I must get back in touch with my readers and followers.

From concept idea to cover I have been collaborating with an artist on Fiverr to create a my new book cover. It is always a challenge trying to put your ideas into words, let alone someone use those word to create a visual image. The book cover is so important as it is what is most likely to draw readers in so it has to be attractive but I feel also needs to be true to the story within it. I want it to represent the book but also make the viewer ask questions and draw them in.

So without further ado here is the book cover to my upcoming novel, Devils at the Gate.

This will be the second in the Stone Devils series.

What I’m reading/listening to

I'm on a Stephen King binge at the moment, after completing The Outsider and thoroughly enjoying it I have continued with his Holly Gibney series and am now onto If It Bleeds. This is a few short stories including The Life Of Chuck which is about to be a film adapted by Mike Flanagan, this should be exciting to see as he is a king (pardon the pun) of horror on the screens. The life of Chuck is not particularly a horror so curious to see if it will be in Flanagan's horror style.

If It Bleeds is the short story which includes Holly and another Outsider which was very entertaining and now I've realised she is part of another series so I could be King(ing) for a while.
