Hi and Merry Christmas my awesome readers.

Latest news

It has been a BIG MONTH!!!! I received a proof copy of my debut novel; These are Stone Devils. It looks great if I do say so myself. After a tough year of working hard to get this book to where I want it to be, to have something solid in my hands feels amazing.

I had a final read through and was happy to fully publish. You can get a copy on Kindle or paperback here: These are Stone Devils eBook : Lovell-Crane, Oliver, Lovell-Crane, Oliver : Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store

Please leave a review on Amazon and share with friends on your socials if you like it. It helps a lot, thank you in advance to all my readers. I hope you enjoy.

I must take a moment to publicly thank my wife who has always believed in me and supported this dream of mine. She is also my editor and has taken the role very seriously, without her this book would still be in draft, not on Amazon’s “shelves” in time for Christmas.

Not only have I completed this but I’ve begun my first read through and edit of the second in the series, Devils at the Gate (working title, please let me know your thoughts?) My target is to have this with you by Summer 2025, giving you all plenty of time to commit book 1 to memory!

OTHER EXCITING NEWS: (Told you it had been a big month) I also came 5th place in a micro writing competition. The challenge was to write a story in 123 words. You can view it here( let me know your thoughts): https://crankedanvil.co.uk/2024/12/02/micromondayfive/

What I’m reading/listening to

I have recently listened to Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy, famous author of an apocalypse favourite for all fans of the genre, The Road. Blood Meridian follows a boy called the Kid who joins a murderous gang of scalpers in the wild west. The story could be hard to listen to at points with incredibly dark and violent scenes. The lawless west is well portrayed and the feeling that every man was for himself runs deep throughout the book. It looks at how a man’s decisions and those who surround him can affect his fate. I’m just starting another of his, the classic: No Country For Old Men.

Let me know what your reading or get in touch using the below links.
